ERASMUS+KA171 INTERNATIONAL CREDIT MOBILITY 2022-2025

Arising from an existing Memorandum of Understanding (September 2021) between University of Padova, Italy (UniPd) and Makerere University (Mak), the two institutions partnered and were jointly granted funding for the Erasmus+ KA171 international credit mobility for students and staff, 2022-2025. At Mak, the Departmental Flow Coordinator is Felix Wamono (PhD) and the project Principal Investigator is Saint Kizito Omala (PhD), both of Department of Statistical Methods and Actuarial Science (DSMAS).

In this regard, the Department of Statistical Methods and Actuarial Science wishes to announce opportunities for students and staff credit mobility to the Department of Statistical Sciences, University of Padova, Italy for the Spring Semester, February 2024 – July 2024. 1819 STUDENTS AWARDED AT 73RD GRADUATION CEREMONY

It was merrymaking at the Freedom Square as 1,819 students of the College of Business and Management Sciences received PhDs, masters and undergraduate degrees on the third day of the 73rd graduation, February 15, 2023. Of these, 891 are male while 928 are female. The college graduated 3 PhDs, 376 Masters students, 11 post graduate diplomas and 1429 undergraduate students.

 

During the celebrations, one of our partners, Prudential Uganda, rewarded the best 5 performing students from the Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science with USD500 and a professional study scholarship. The students recognized include Nanfuka Rebecca Rosette with 4.55, Mukiibi Cyrus with 4.15, Angura Kupa Abraham
with 4.02, Mwesigwa Mark Lewis   4.00 and
Akumu Gloria Agnes 3.99.

One students of the college under the MasterCard Foundations scholarship received an award for exceptional performance. Nanyunja Fatumah, with a Bachelor of Business Administration got a first class degree and was awarded a plaque in recognition of her excellent performance.  Follow more on the story through the link COBAMS GRADUATION FEB 15, 2023

Prof. Bbaale hands over deanship to Prof. Okumu

Prof. Edward Bbbaale, has today January 16, 2023 handed over deanship of the School of Economics to Prof. Ibrahim Okumu Mike. This follows Prof. Bbaale’s appointment as the Director of the Directorate of Research and Graduate Training. The handover was done at a ceremony witnessed by members of staff, Human Resources Manager, a representative from Internal Audit and the deputy Principal of COBAMS. Get more here 

HEST GRADUATE PROGRAMME

The program aims to improve graduates’ skills by placing them into selected partner industries for skill gain. facilitating the process and supervising placed interns. Graduates will be placed in their  areas of study accordingly.

The phased recruitment and placement will start 1st December for a period of three months. Recent university graduates graduates and those awaiting graduation should apply for this opportunity, for more about this opportunity click HEST Graduate call.
