About the Centre

The Makerere University Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre (MakEIC) at the College of Business and Management Sciences (CoBAMS) use an integrated multi-prolonged approach to structure interventions in line with the Theory of Change addressing the six strategies of prevention, provision, promotion, publication, partnerships and participation towards addressing economic, social and structural drivers of unemployment. 

Objectives of MakEIC

  1. To improve the students’ employability through sustainable self-employment initiatives, the creation of start-up companies, and by fostering entrepreneurial abilities so as to generate significant value for our country.
  2. To transfer knowledge from the University to a wide entrepreneurial ecosystem for mutually beneficial collaborations.
  3. To support entrepreneurial and innovative initiatives designed to improve teaching, research and management processes at the University.
  4. To conduct customised community outreach interventions countrywide that create decent employment opportunities and improve standards of living.

We are open on Monday – Friday at 11am and 3pm, except on holidays.
