Biography

Dr. Susan Namirembe Kavuma is a development economist with over fifteen years experience in economics and policy research. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom and is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Policy and Development Economics at the School of Economics at Makerere University. Susan has over twenty years of experience of lecturing university students. Her core areas of expertise include economic analysis, gender and development analysis, labour market analysis and environmental economic analysis. Susan has published several articles in peer reviewed journals. She has led and participated in various research projects on women economic empowerment, entrepreneurship development, tax policy analysis with institutions such as Advocates Coalition for Development (ACODE), United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) – Uganda Office, and United Nations University World Institute for Development Economics Research (UNU WIDER).
